Minnesota Legislature Adds New State Gift Tax

Minnesota Legislature has passed a new tax bill adding a new state gift tax. If signed into law by the governor, the legislation will take effect on July 1, 2013. The proposal requires a 10% tax on lifetime gifts of $1 million dollars, which is below the threshold
